This empowering presentation describes how sexual abuse trauma can become a barrier to discussing safety rules geared toward sexual abuse prevention with children. Looking more closely at the mechanism of intergenerational trauma and how it dissuades adults from engaging with the topic, providing suggestions as to how to address these feelings, and ultimately, outlining topics of conversation that aid in the prevention or proper response to a child being victimized. By the end of the presentation, attendees will develop how to hold a safe space and feel empowered to break the cycle of abuse.
